Friday the 13th
Jay just informed me that today is Friday the 13th (I didn't even know it was Friday...I'm a dullard). So yeah, don't die or whatever, if you're into that sort of thing (superstition). We need all the fans we can get.
With their massive riffs, huge vocals and thick, crowd-moving grooves, Sanction has burst onto the national music scene hell-bent on adding oxygen to the hard rock fire.
Frontman Jay Haggis teamed up with guitarist Josh Bechtel, bassist Dave Wagner, and drummer Luis Sardina, as Sanction lit up stages from the House of Blues in Hollywood to the Hard Rock in Vegas.
Sanction's debut LP, Vicious Truths and Precious Lies, was recorded and engineered entirely by the band (with a couple outside favors) in January of 2006 - around full-time work schedules and despite severe sleep deprivation.
Vicious Truths... is an ode to those who are partial to the darker pleasures that life may offer. Gritty, moody vocals bleed their soul over throngs of dark, brooding guitars. Buttery-smooth melodies give way to abrasive, jarring riffs. Bits of psychedelic, thrash, prog, and paranoia swing by the party for a quick drink. And through it all, the rhythm section lays down a pulse as deep as the maternal heartbeat.
Sanction is gearing up to tour throughout 2007, turning loose their fiery, infectious live show on the masses from coast to coast.
