another day in Montana

So, here I sit in a very lovely hotel room in Billings, MT (seriously, this place rules!)

I am presently trying to recover from last night's show in time to rock the house tonight. We had an AMAZING show last night at the Zebra Club in Bozeman and it was entirely due to our new friends there. Chris, the self proclaimed president of our "Bozeman Street Team" earned his stripes and his efforts helped make it the best show on the tour BY FAR. (Thanks again, man!)

Actually, every single person we met there was f*#king cool and made the night quite memorable. This includes a cowboy who desperately wanted to sing acapella during our break and a VERY friendly school teacher (both of who had to be removed by the bouncers. I have NEVER felt more like a rockstar then I did when security asked me if I wanted to "86" these two!!) The school teacher in particular was a trip - I don't know if Luis has really recovered from her antics yet.

So now we are gearing up for the show at the Railyard Ale House here in Billings. Cory (the owner) is a real friend of the band and we are siked to bee here. Just two more shows to go and then we head home. I don't want to speak too soon (like I said, we still have 2 show to go), but I think this tour is a definite success. Luis is fitting in quite well and we are making many many new friends in new places.

Alrighty... gotta go to work. Later!

So we started the tour...

... last night in Hollywood, CA. It was the first show with Luis and to say that he passed with flying colors would be a MASSIVE understatement!!! He kicked some major ass in the show and it was the first time in a loooooooooong time that we felt that natural and had that much fun on stage!

Anyway, the show itself was good (we got to knock the rust off in front of all our friends) and the venue is great (it's called "The Gig"). It was really nice to play Hollywood and NOT have to deal with a ton of attitude! Actually, the venue was so cool that we are looking to END the tour where it began. So, after our short but hectic run through the mid west, we will head back to the Gig at the end of May... and quite possibly use that venue to record a live DVD! Sounds cool, huh? Yeah... I thought so too.

So now it is off to tour with us. Check back for more ramblings (we DID promise to be better about that) from the road and I will keep you up to date with that DVD stuff when we get closer.

Later!

New drummer... New family

Having bid adieu to our esteemed colleague, Dusty Schaller, Sanction has once again journeyed through the music wasteland of LA to find a new drummer. I can't lie to you folks... this time it was VERY hard and almost left Sanction without water in the scorching heat of band oblivion.

But then... there was an oasis in the form of Luis Sardina. Fresh from Mexico, Luis was both club owner and lawyer in the area of Vera Cruz, but first and foremost he is a very talented drummer. Having played all over the country in his pop band and then signing a deal with a major, the band called it quits and to L.A., Luis came.

We are VERY excited to have him as a member and can't wait for all of you to see what he can do. This is gonna be an incredible tour!

Hey, boys and girls!

It's been an interesting finish to the year and, personally, I am eager to see what 2007 brings. In the meantime, hope you all enjoy the holidays and have a rip-roaring time! I plan to do just that... starting right now.

Take care everyone. Happy holidays!

Josh's Little Mini Tour

I just got back from three weeks of NACA!!!!! YAY!!!!

As many people know we play a lot of college shows and NACA is our means to do it. I recently visited three cities in the middle of an east coast winter... not fun... but the people and new friends I met were and I hope to see them all again soon. but Jackie... where were you?

The experience was aided by the fact that I got to travel with the "big dog" of the booking agency we use for these NACA shows: none other then Sailesh, himself. Got to learn a LOT from that guy. If you have a chance, look him up online. As far as hypnotists with a sick sense of humor go... you will not find a better one! He is awesome!!

Anyway, I am now back in the warmth of my beloved southern California. To everyone I met on the road: thanks and I look forward to seeing ya all again!
